Revision #15 February 3rd, 2010 - 7 Rounds!
The next Consensus Mock Draft (Rev 16) will be available Wednesday Feb 10th.
(Edit Feb 8) Draft Season Begins! Out Mocks for the past several weeks, and most of the NFL season, have had the Indianapolis Colts picking at the #32 spot. The Steelers and Giants had some weeks at the top early on, but the only other team to claim top billing over the course of the season were the Super Bowl Champs, the New Orleans Saints. CMD#16 will feature the final selection order, with Indy and NOLA switching places. For users of our proprietary Online Draft Simulator, this switch has already been made effective Sunday evening.

About the Drafttek Consensus Mock Draft
1) Comments on each selection - Drafttek's CMD is computer generated, so each selection is assigned a player based upon the team's positional needs and the algorithm that matches players to the needs. The comments that you see are provided by our staff of team analysts. The analysts are not making the pick, they are commenting on the programmed pick. They don't always agree that the best choice was made.
2) Reader comments - Drafttek will allow readers to make comments on selections via Twitter. We'll let our Drafttek Analyst comments sit for a few days, then open up the floor to readers; posting the most insightful tweets. Starting with CMD #2, we await your comments!
3) Player Info Graphics - by mousing over the player names, an informative graphic pops up (in most browsers).
4) Team Rankings - During the regular season, the team selection order mirrors the power rankings published by Pro Football Weekly.

| PK | TEAM | SELECTION | COMMENTS | |
| 1 | ![]() |
Ndamukong Suh Nebraska DT43 Value (+0) |
St Louis It's the biggest no brainer pick for the Rams since Orlando Pace, only a trade for 2 first rounders or Marshall and Denver's first will keep him from a Rams uni -Rob Occhipinti (Drafttek Rams Analyst) ![]() |
|
| 2 | ![]() |
Gerald McCoy Oklahoma DT43 Reach (-1) |
Detroit McCoy isn't Ndamukong Suh and really, that is his only fault. The talented Sooner isn't far off his Husker counterpart in terms of talent- just hype. - Schottey (Drafttek Lions Analyst) ![]() |
|
| 3 | ![]() |
Eric Berry Tennessee FS Value (+1) |
Tampa Bay If St Louis chooses to go with a QB (Clausen or Bradford) with the #1 overall, Tampa Bay would most certainly look to fill this pick with one of the big 2 Defensive Tackles. However in this mock, both Suh and McCoy are gone-zo, and there is too much talent dropoff to look at the next tier. That said, such reached have happened (last yr KC and Tyson Jackson). Berry makes sense here under the circumstances. - Drafttek Staff ![]() |

Sam Bradford Oklahoma QB Reach (-3) |
Washington Perhaps he is Shanahan's heir apparent? Look for a shakeup here though, Skins fans . . . Jason Campbell may find himself the starting QB again in 2010 and the Skins may just look for someone to protect him. Russell Okung or Tennessee Safety, Eric Berry could find their name called at the #4 spot. - Scott Lilliston (Drafttek Redskins Analyst) ![]() |
|
| 5 | ![]() |
Rolando McClain Alabama ILB Reach (-5) |
Kansas City This Butkus Award winner has high athletic ability, a high football IQ, is a coach on the field and played ILB in a complex 3-4 at Alabama. ILB's rarely go this high, but McClain is a rare player. Sold! Merlin DT Chiefs Analyst ![]() |
|
| 6 | ![]() |
Joe Haden Florida CB Value (+0) |
Seattle Haden is a legitimate top ten pick. You can never have enough good cornerbacks and Seattle gets a good one here. - Rob Staton (Seahawks Analyst) ![]() |
|
| 7 | ![]() |
Jimmy Clausen Notre Dame QB Value (+2) |
Cleveland Clausen is a franchise QB going to a team who needs one. Holmgren will be the perfect mentor for him. - Scott Carasik, Drafttek Browns Analyst ![]() |
|
| 8 | ![]() |
Russell Okung Oklahoma State OT Value (+4) |
Oakland Russell Okung, OT: Okung's awesome quickstep, strong legs, and smart reads could keep Jamarcus Russell upright for days. Needs to get mean and build a stronger punch. - Tim, Your Raiders DraftTek Analyst ![]() |

Trent Williams Oklahoma OT Reach (-5) |
Buffalo If Trent Williams would really end up playing left tackle in the NFL, this is the Bills' choice, as they sorely need bookend tackles this off-season. Many think he'll end up at RT. If that's so, watch for Bulaga, a strong run blocker to end up here. - Dean Kindig (Drafttek Bills Analyst) ![]() |
|
| 10 | * | ![]() |
Anthony Davis Rutgers OG Reach (-6) |
Denver Interior O-Line is a huge need for the Broncos and Davis could help a lot. In fact, he could help at OT as well and that flexibility will make him very attractive to McD and crew. It's a bit hard to pass on Iupati here when he is still on the board, but for now we'll go with the more highly ranked Davis. ![]() |
| 11 | ![]() |
Dez Bryant Oklahoma State WRF Value (+0) |
Jacksonville Tim Tebow kissed his 1st round prospects goodbye at the Senior Bowl, so hello Garrard and here's your bonus: the best WR in the draft. Maurice can be Jones-Drew or Drew-Jones, as this should help remove the 8th defender out of the box. - Long Ball, DOF ![]() |
|
| 12 | ![]() |
Dan Williams Tennessee DT34 Reach (-9) |
Miami With the best 3-4 ILB and WR off the board Miami is looking BPA at an area of need. The way this mock played out, grabbing NT Williams from Tennessee would fill a big need. Jason Ferguson is old and injury prone and Soliai has shown little improvement in 3 years. NT is the most important position in a 3-4 scheme. - Joe Mays, Draft Tek Team Analyst ![]() |
|
| 13 | ![]() |
C.J. Spiller Clemson RBC Value (+5) |
San Francisco The 49ers struggled to move the ball at times last season and lacked a player that could take it the distance on short pass plays. Spiller fills voids in the short pass game to special teams and also extends the shelf life of current starter Frank Gore. The Niners offense would benefit tremendously from this high value pick. Spiller would be the BPA at this pick here. - Drew Kerr (Drafttek Niners Analyst) ![]() |
|
| 14 | * | ![]() |
Derrick Morgan Georgia Tech DE43 Value (+5) |
Seattle Amongst Seattle's biggest needs (and there's a few) is finding an edge rush who can get to the quarterback consistently. Morgan could be that man. - Rob Staton (Seahwaks Analyst) ![]() |
| 15 | ![]() |
Earl Thomas Texas FS Reach (-3) |
NY Giants The Giants need safety help, badly. Earl Thomas, although very young, is quite talented and would be an immediate upgrade to the NY secondary. - Bill Bliss (Drafttek Giants Analyst) ![]() |
|
| 16 | ![]() |
Carlos Dunlap Florida DE43 Value (+4) |
Tennessee Carlos Dunlap is a A+ physically and a F- mentally. Still, Jeff Fisher knows how to get the most out of his players and if Haynesworth can succeed in Tennessee, so can Dunlap. Now to resign Tony Brown . . . Michael Schottey (Drafttek Titans Analyst) ![]() |
