Bills Comments 2021 Mock Draft #6

RD1, Pick 28 – Tyson Campbell CB Georgia

At the quarter pole, Josh Allen owns the NFL. He’s top 5 in NFL Passing Yards (1326) and Deep Pass Percentage. He’s second in YPA (9.0), Passing TDs (12), and QB Rating (122.7), and second to Dak Prescott in chunk plays (20+ yards), as well. Josh is helmet and shoulder pads above everyone in Red-Zone Scoring (a surgical 91% over the last 3 games; second place is a distant 80%). The Artist Formerly Known as Inaccurate has a 70.9% completion percentage and is tied for Lowest INTs. Moreover, Allen gets to throw to Stefon Diggs, co-leader in the NFL for Receiving Yards (400). With his corps of TD Engineers, Firebaugh’s most-famous melon farmer has an NFL-most 13 games with 1+ pass TD and 1+ rush TD since 2018. On offense, Life is Good.

On defense, Life Isn’t Real Bad. Recent additions via Free Agency, Quinton Jefferson, Mario Addison (team leader in sacks and TFLs), and Josh Norman, all killed it this week. The three forced fumbles, 2 of which were recovered by the same player, prevented Chuckie Gruden’s Group from making it another come-from-behind Rams game.

Over the past 5 seasons when they started 4-0, the Bills have amassed 3 division titles and 2 Super Bowl appearances. If I were Goodell, I’d just give the Bills next week off.

Four concerns going forward:

  • The spectre of A.J. Klein subbing 3-5 weeks for Matt Milano should scare you more than Milano’s $5.7M current valuation.
  • The opt-out of Lotulelei, a true DL1T, now looms large. Guards who’d be left in to block Lotulelei are taking out Edmunds and/or Milano. Watch the All-22.
  • The run-blocking isn’t good. Feliciano’s return can’t come soon enough.
  • Depth at both FS and CB are unsettling. Fortunately, the speedy, versatile Tyson Campbell is equally adept at both, so he’s the pick.
